A HISTORY OF MARIAN’S MARKET:

Many vendors had sold at the current location for years prior to the official “Marian’s Market”. However it is a long time and outstanding citizen of Arivaca that the market is in honor of. In September of 2011 a group of individuals got together to give the market it’s first “look”. Erecting poles for shade cloth and signs and laying out the shape of today’s market. They decided to pay tribute to Marian Mikesell, mother, guardian angel to some, friend to all. A true inspiration and role model. A farmer, Marian raised cattle, chickens, and geese, selling her eggs under the big tree, waving to all passers by. Marian was an eccentric and unique individual, always having a positive attitude and outlook on life. Known for a big heart and crazy hats. The following are just a few of her generous accomplishments of the this lady that spread her love to her community.
